We hand-craft vibrant acrylic prints in our shop. Acrylic Face Mounting is one of the fastest growing segments for wall décor graphics and signage. This is primarily due to high quality and durability. When using acrylic, all the attention is focused on the subject rather than a frame. "Versatility" is key as hundreds of combinations can be produced with high quality print material, type and thickness of acrylic, backing, and display hardware. In-depth information.
C-Print (Cost effective, quality paper), Epson Premium Gloss (Optimum, 200-year life), Epson Metallic (Adds contrast, vibrancy), Moab Slickrock Silver (Dramatic, artistic metal look), Transparency (Film for rear-lit graphic), Dusted Vinyl (Great with standoffs), and Clear (For signage). The Epson and Moab papers are printed with pigment basked ink, archival inks. How to choose a print paper from above.
Images are mounted behind the acrylic (face mounted) and can be front mounted on request.
Standard thicknesses: 1/16”, 1/8”, 1/4", and 1/2". More thickness adds depth to the image. 1/4” is common.
Non-Glare thicknesses: 1/16” and 1/8”. Eliminates glare and softens the image.
TruLife Best acrylic available. 1/8” thick. Amazing clarity, vivid colors, anti-reflective (you see the image, not your reflection), 99% UV Protection, and anti-abrasive.
We hand-polish the edges on 1/4” and 1/2” acrylic. Upon your request, we round or square the corners and custom router cut circles and shapes if desired.
Backing and Display Hardware
A backing blocks light from shining from behind the print and provides support to add cleats. It is not needed with standoffs.
Black or White PVC Provides a surface to apply cleats or other hardware to hang the graphic and provides a floating look. Available in 2mm, 1/8”, 1/4", and 1/2”. 1/2" and on beveled on request for a more dimensional appearance.
Aluminum Composite Large graphics that may need more structure. E-Panel (mid-priced) and DiBond.
Cleats A mount to provide a sturdy hanger and make your images appear to float off the wall. Thicknesses of 1/4", 1/2", and 3/4".
Shadow Mount The most economical method of display. It consists of a Gatorfoam block with aluminum hangers allowing the acrylic to be hung on the wall with a nail or screw. Once hung it appears that the image is floating ½" from the wall.
Wood Frame Back A wood frame attached to the back of the acrylic, hung with wire, and appears to float 1" from the wall.
Aluminum Frame Back An aluminum frame attached to the back of the acrylic, hung by wire or a Z-Bar hanger, and floats ¾” from wall.
Robin Imaging can custom-cut your acrylic into circles, ovals, and just about any shape you can imagine. If you have a special need contact us at 513-381-5116 or email@example.com.
